Description
This R13 A clarinet sounds great, plays great, and is in great shape! The wood is in excellent condition with no cracks or defects. The nickel plating is also good, showing just a little minor wear on the rings.
The clarinet has been fully cleaned, oiled, and wood treated. Some of the pads and bumpers were replaced, and then we went over the clarinet in detail. We synchronized the action, and adjusted the ergonomics and spring tensions to perfect the instrument’s excellent response.
As a French-tuned instrument, it’s pitched at A=442, very minutely sharper than the standard A=440. This could be perfect for someone who plays slightly flat, but the clarinet also comes with two barrels to give the player options. The 66mm barrel can help counter the different tuning a little, while the 65mm Muncy barrel maintains the A=442 tuning and offers a slightly different tonality.
