CNC-Machined Clarinet Mouthpiece Blanks (Copy)

Soprano clarinet mouthpiece blanks from Rice Clarinet Works are made with high precision on our state-of-the-art CNC machines, and are modeled with the latest CAD/CAM software.

In contrast to conventional molded rubber blanks, CNC-made blanks are more accurate and more consistent by a wide margin. This means that there is less finishing work involved. The rubber is more dense, as well, since the blanks remain cool while machining, which allows machined blanks to play better than molded rubber.

We offer two signature mouthpiece designs: the Model K and Model C.

Model K Soprano Mouthpiece Blank:

We've based our Model K on a stellar Chicago Kaspar Mouthpiece that played amazingly well. We used many of its design aspects, but also looked to improve certain characteristics to make a mouthpiece we could call our own. This mouthpiece is characterized by a powerful and brilliant tone that can cut through an orchestra.

Model C Soprano Mouthpiece Blank:

Loosely based on a vintage Chedeville Mouthpiece that we refined and improved. Our Model C is perfect for someone looking for a slightly darker and more covered sound. It has a deeper baffle than our Model K, which gives the sound more bottom-end. It possesses a powerful, resonant sound, but with slightly less brilliance.

Options:

Blank Design: Model K or Model C

Color: Hard Rubber in Black (standard pricing) and Red-Marbled

Body Finishing: Matte Finish, or sanded and buffed for a Glossy Finish

Beak Finishing: Unfinished surface ready for your finishing process, a 3D-Milled surface that matches our Matte Body Finish (above), or sanded and buffed for a Glossy Finish

Tenon Options:

Standard Cork Groove: Allows the use of a traditional tenon cork. Our pricing does not include the cork itself, but we can install for you, if desired, by selecting the option.

O-ring Groove: Allows the use of O-rings (not included).

Engraving: Your company or personal logo will be engraved. We currently only offer unfilled logos which will appear the same color as the rubber.

Serial Number: We'll add custom serialization with size, location, and numbering of your choice. Three to five character-length recommended.
